Netherlands: Groenewegen is the fastest in the country
Just like in our country, the Dutch championship – without Mathieu van der Poel – turned out to be a sprint.
For the second time (after 2016), Dylan Groenewegen was fastest in the country. In Arnhem he beat Olaf Koeg and Ramon Sinkeldam easily.
From next week, Groenewegen will also attempt to score in the Tour de France in his Dutch jersey.
Italy: Bitul solos for the national title
Alberto Pettiol, winner of the previous round, won in Italy. The EF-EasyPost rider crossed the line alone and threw his bike into the air.
Betiol began his triumphant procession 9 km from the finish. Lorenzo Rota and Edoardo won the battle for the podium places, with time trial champion Filippo Ganna finishing fourth.
Bettiol will also be at the start of the tour next week.
France: Lapira surprises the big names
In France, Paul Lapira crowned his beautiful spring with the national title.
The 24-year-old Decathlon-AG2R rider pulled away from a group that included favorites like Julian Alaphilippe (who finished 12th).
Lapira beat fellow escapee Julien Bernard to the finish, with Thomas Gatchegnard finishing third.
Spain: Arranburu takes charge of Lazcano
Alex Aranburu replaces teammate Oier Lazkano as champion of Spain. After 200 kilometers he crossed the line alone.
Lazcano cornered Aranboro on the podium, with championship rider Jesus Herrada taking third.
