Philzuid at De Ruimte Primary School

The De Ruimte primary school in Son en Breugel is all about music throughout the whole month of June. Musicians from Philzuid are preparing more than 200 students and teachers for a spectacular musical finale: a joint performance of the entire school on Monday 1 July at 2 pm.

“Show Your Arts”: The fun of making music together.
In recent years, musicians from Velzweid have accompanied many primary schools in Brabant and Limburg to give unforgettable performances. Composer Toyek Nauman has written a unique score specifically for these school performances, consisting of separate parts performed by different classes. The result is a musical spectacle in which orchestral musicians, students and teachers shine together. The song “Show Your Art” is the common thread here.

On July 1, all De Ruimte Primary School students, from groups 1 to 8, will give this special performance with their teachers and Philzuid musicians. In recent weeks, Twik Naaman’s composition has been extensively rehearsed. During the workshops, the students were guided by Philzuid musicians, allowing them to experience how fun it is to make music together.

Education in Philzuid
Philzuid offers an intensive educational program for both primary and secondary education. Every year, 20,000 students experience music at school or in the theater thanks to Philzuid. Once a school year, the orchestra, in collaboration with a primary school, offers the project “Show your art”, especially for schools that want to celebrate something special or want to focus more on music education.
