Anderlecht played a training match against Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven today and did nothing but poorly. Especially when you consider that it was an emergency team with a lot of youngsters. But among that young force, an old man stood out.
Reports have been circulating for several months that Anderlecht definitely want to sell Majid Ashemiru. The midfielder is in the final year of his contract and has been injured a lot in recent years.
But when you see him play, you have to wonder: ‘Will Anderlecht really get rid of him? ‘ He was very strong against PSV and in the current team he is the only midfielder who is always thinking about the future.
Jesper Fredberg wants more creative profiles, but if Ashimeru continues to present himself as such, he should also consider extending the 26-year-old Ghanaian’s contract.
After all, Anderlecht does not have an unlimited budget to enter the transfer market. And at the moment there is not much interest in Ashemiro. He can still provide them with a good service.
Another positive: all the young guests performed well against PSV. Inguanda Nunzio and Nathan De Cat showed their great potential and Tristan Dereve was also strong. Anderlecht won 0-3 with goals from Angulo, Vazquez and Dereve.
