Apple showed off Apple Intelligence with Siri support at WWDC 2024. But you’ll have to wait until 2025 to use the feature.

Siri with Apple Intelligence Won’t Arrive Until 2025

According to Mark Gurman, you still have a long wait to use the new version of Siri. He says in his latest newsletter that the new version of Siri (with Apple Intelligence) will only be available in iOS 18.4. That will be sometime in early 2025. The beta is expected to be available in January.

Apple Intelligence and the new version of Siri were unveiled at WWDC 2024 in June. As the name suggests, Apple Intelligence is the function where Apple will focus entirely on artificial intelligence.

Almost all Apple apps are thus expanded with Apple Intelligence. Siri in particular will get a major upgrade. But then all sorts of functions are added. For example, you will get a writing assistant to rewrite and summarize texts. In addition, Siri has become even smarter, with the integration of ChatGPT and support for advanced (typed) commands.

Apple’s intelligence Coming to iPhone, iPad, and Mac, not all devices will get the new features. This has to do with the computing power required to perform all the heavy tasks and the amount of working memory required. So only devices with the best processors will support Apple Intelligence.

Apple Intelligence (with Siri) is only available on devices with the M1 chip or A17 Pro chip or later. Unfortunately, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max run on the A17 Pro chip. So the new AI tech will only come to two versions of the entire iPhone lineup, but we expect every iPhone 16 to have this functionality.
