On July 8, 2024, a dramatic event occurred during a routine crossing between Valencia and Palma (Mallorca). The passenger ship GNV Tenacia, carrying 411 passengers, suffered a fire in the engine room. This incident occurred north of Ibiza and led to the evacuation of all passengers and crew.

The captain decided to evacuate all 350 passengers and 61 crew members using lifeboats. The Coast Guard arrived at the scene to assist, along with three helicopters carrying members of the Catalan Fire Brigade who helped extinguish the fire.
