Large order of 1,500 Volvo FH Aero trucks for Italian transport company Lannutti

Italian transport and logistics company Lannutti Group has placed an order for 1,500 Volvo FH Aero trucks. The company is renewing its long-haul fleet. It is one of the largest orders ever for Volvo Trucks.

The Lannutti Group, headquartered in Italy, operates a fleet of over 2,500 trucks operating 24/7 in eight European countries. As part of its fleet renewal programme, Lannutti has placed an order for 1,500 Volvo FH Aero trucks. All are equipped with Volvo’s new camera monitoring system – a new feature that replaces conventional mirrors and improves aerodynamics and safety.

“Within the Lannutti Group, we are renewing our fleet to prioritize low-emission vehicles. At the same time, with these new trucks, we are offering a high level of comfort and safety for our drivers, to protect them and all other road users. In addition to the fuel-saving I-Save technology that is already 100% included in the fleet, we now also want to take advantage of the advantages of the camera monitoring system and the improved aerodynamic design. The partnership with Volvo allows us to continue our journey towards a zero-emission future,” said Valter Lannutti, CEO of the Lannutti Group.

The majority of the trucks ordered by Lannutti will run on hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO), a fuel that can be produced from waste products, thus reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90 percent.

“This deal makes me very proud because it shows the trust and commitment Lannutti has with Volvo Trucks as a long-term business partner,” says Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. “This is real proof that we have done the right thing with the new Volvo FH Aero. The truck helps our customers reduce fuel costs and CO2 emissions, and is also one of the safest truck models for their drivers.”

Volvo FH Aero: Developed with a focus on fuel efficiency and safety
Fuel efficiency and safety were equally important in the development of the new Volvo FH Aero. The new aerodynamic cabin design is up to five percent more efficient than its predecessor.

In addition, Volvo Trucks’ new camera monitoring system contributes to fuel savings thanks to its aerodynamic design, and improves road safety by providing a better direct view for the driver and better visibility in dark and rainy conditions.

Fuel savings with the new Volvo FH Aero are in addition to efficiency improvements made to the Volvo FH powertrain in recent years, including Volvo’s I-Save powertrain technology. The fuel savings in the new Volvo FH and FH Aero range translate into significant reductions in CO2 emissions and operating costs.

The Volvo FH Aero also features a number of interior modifications to improve the working environment for drivers. Additional connected services provide fleet managers with a complete overview of the truck and trailer.

The new Volvo FH Aero is available in four variants: FH Aero, FH Aero Electric, FH Aero on (Bio-)LNG and FH16 Aero.

1,500 new Volvo trucks will be delivered to the Lannutti Group in 2024 and 2025.
