Disney+ comes with a huge price increase for existing customers

Disney+ subscribers are in for a shock. In one fell swoop, the streaming service is increasing its prices by nearly 30 percent. Plus, it’s launching two new subscription types.

The single Disney+ subscription currently costs €10.99 per month or €109.90 per year. As of October 17, these costs will rise to €13.99 per month or €139.90 per year. An increase of no less than 27.3 percent.

New Subscription Types
As of October 17, two new subscription types will also be available in addition to the aforementioned “Disney+ Premium” subscription type. The first is Disney+ Standard with ads for € 5.99 per month and the second is Disney+ Standard without ads for € 9.99 per month or € 99.90 per year.

“The launch of the subscription with ads represents an important development for Disney+ in the Netherlands,” “We are delighted to partner with Walt Disney to create a new generation of digital content for our customers,” said Marco De Ruiter, Country Manager of The Walt Disney Company in Benelux. “It provides greater choice for both our subscribers and our advertising partners.”

It changes
Existing customers will automatically receive a Disney+ Premium subscription. However, they will have the option to switch to Disney+ Standard or Disney+ Standard with ads. If existing customers do not switch, they will be charged the new price of €13.99 per month from their next billing date on or after November 21.

If you still want to take advantage of the old price, you can currently get an annual contract for €109.90 per year.
