Apple has released a new version of iOS 15. This means that problems during calls are finally a thing of the past.
We are now ready for iOS 15.1.1, which again fixes a lot of bugs. One of those issues was very annoying. The iPhone 12 and 13 models experienced errors during calls. Calls can drop out of nowhere.
Problems with iOS 15
With the release of iOS 15, users are still facing many issues. Notifications didn’t come, Safari didn’t sync, AirTags disappeared and updates didn’t work. Some of these issues were addressed in previous updates so now is the time for dropped calls. However, there does not appear to be a security update. However, there are updates for Facetime, Safari, Maps, and Wallet.
Apple itself doesn’t devote too many words to the new update to 15.1.1. Although it is 1.41 GB, the description reads: “iOS 15.1.1 improves call drop prevention on iPhone 12 and 13 models.” So this update is only for versions 12 and 13. If you have an iPhone 11 or earlier, you will not see the update.
Previous updates
Earlier, of course, the regular update 15.1 for iOS was released. In it, Apple added support for SharePlay and made it possible to record videos with ProRes on iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. In some countries, it is also possible to add a vaccination certificate in the Wallet app. Unfortunately, this (so far) does not apply to the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, more is also known about iOS 15.2. From this update, it will be possible to have the iPhone 13 screen repaired by an independent repairer. Previously, this was not possible without consequences, because FaceID no longer works. More about it read here.
