FIOD arrests man behind website where coronavirus can be ordered

The FIOD Tax Investigation Service, on Friday morning, arrested a man linked to the website “jaikwilcorona.nl”, where the virus can be ordered in a tube for self-contamination. He is accused of fraud.

On the website in question, you can order the so-called ‘corona kit’ for 33.50 euros, with which the buyer can infect himself with the Covid-19 virus. According to the website, everything needed for intentional contamination will simply be delivered by mail. After you become infected yourself, the test for GGD will first be positive, and then, when you recover again, it will be negative. With a treatment certificate from GGD, people will then be able to regain access to the nightlife without getting vaccinated.

The Inspectorate for Health and Youth Welfare (IGJ) announced last month that it would take steps against the people behind the site, who promoted their services with the slogan: ‘Do you want to determine for yourself when you have contracted coronavirus? With Corona Kit you can choose for yourself! According to the website, the virus transmitted was only three months old, “so you can be sure to include the latest mutations and variants as well.”

The kit included a tube containing liquid with coronavirus and a self-test to identify infection later.

The inspection described the initiative as alarming. “Coronavirus is dangerous. It can make you seriously ill. And you can infect others, who in turn can become seriously ill. Anyone who intentionally infects themselves puts public health at risk,” IGJ’s Margaret Fernhout said.

Since then, the website in question has been cut down by the hosting provider.

2G policy

“With this intentional contamination, the suspect may have been responding to the 2G policy. This means that a person must be vaccinated or declared cured of corona to receive the QR code,” a FIOD spokeswoman said.

The detainee was released after questioning on Friday. According to a FIOD spokeswoman, he is accused of fraud. The Investigation Department does not wish to make any further announcements in connection with the ongoing investigation into the functional prosecutor’s office.
