American businessman Glenn De Vries, 49, died in a plane crash. The small plane crashed in Hampton Township, sixty miles west of New York. He had recently been to space with “Star Trek” actor William Shatner.
In addition to de Vries, another 54-year-old passenger was killed, according to a police report. The US aviation authority is investigating what happened.
De Vries was the founder of the medical research platform Medidata Solutions. On October 13, he flew into space with 90-year-old Shatner and two others on the second manned mission from Blue Origin, the space company of wealthy Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
The party was off the air for a while. Blue Origin’s reaction is defeated by De Vries’ death.
