A Fox News producer quits after calling Biden a “wannabe dictator” during a broadcast

The text in question appeared on Tuesday shortly before 9 p.m. under two screens that showed simultaneous speeches by current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. The latter spoke in New Jersey after appearing in a Miami court for withholding classified documents. A large tape on the screen read “Wannabe dictator speaking in the White House after his political rival is arrested”.

There was an uproar, and in a statement on Wednesday, Fox News said the matter had been “addressed,” without elaborating. Producer McCaskill now says he offered to quit with two weeks’ notice, but was told to vacate his office and leave immediately.

In an Instagram post, McCaskill shared a photo outside a Fox News office in Manhattan with a box in his hands. “Today was my last day at Fox,” she captioned the photo. “It’s been a wild ten years and it was the best place I’ve ever worked because of the great people I’ve met. But the time has come. I asked them to let me go and they finally did. To all my friends out there: I will miss you forever.”

For years, McCaskill was the regular producer for Tucker Carlson, the controversial Fox News host who didn’t mince words and was fired just months ago.
