The Budapest-based National Media and Communications Authority says it should launch an investigation following any complaint it receives, but has refused to disclose details because the investigation is still ongoing. Reason for complaint reported: homosexual depiction of minors.

Netflix series Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, which revolves around the adventures of six teenagers in a park full of dinosaurs, is very popular right now. According to the streaming platform, it is suitable for children from 7 years old. But in Hungary people think differently about this. Since 2021, a controversial law has been in place prohibiting “the display of homosexual or transsexual images to minors.”

That is why one of the scenes of the series raised one or more complaints: one of the main characters declares her love for another girl. Kiss follows.

The Hungarian media regulator previously stated that it had already received 84 complaints since the law came into force in July 2021. Twelve complaints had already been lodged in the past year, but none indicated an actual breach. Netflix also had an earlier target to achieve: a pregnant man could be seen in a Japanese series. The complaint was eventually dismissed.
