A new book on the life of King Charles of Great Britain will be published in a few days. Our King: Charles III – The Man and the King is a biography written by royalty watcher Robert Jobson. The Daily Mail has already been able to show you some clips and they seem to confirm the rift within the family.

The biography was written before a Netflix documentary about Harry and Meghan was shown. Harry’s “Reserve” was not published until after Jobson’s book was finished. However, the story seems to confirm signs that things have been lopsided with relations within the royal family for some time.

Jobson wrote that this was already when Queen Elizabeth died. In the days following her death, brothers Harry and William seemed to have found each other in mourning as they emerged from Windsor Castle with their two wives to greet the crowd together. It was William’s idea for them to appear as a sign of unity, in honor of their grandmother. It was all just a play. In practice, the procedure required great effort on the part of the princes and their wives. According to a source inside the royal house, Princess Kate has described walking as one of the hardest things she’s ever had to do.

Harry’s relationship with the rest of the family became even more difficult when he decided to leave Buckingham Palace and live in the US with Meghan. A decision that Queen Elizabeth did not understand well at the time, but she continued to maintain a reasonable relationship with her grandson. Harry calls her regularly from California, and she can be read about in the new book. Sometimes he asked for money. Then the queen referred him to Charles, because she herself did not want to interfere in the relationship of father and son. But phone calls between Charles and Harry came to nothing. After Harry kept asking his father for money, Charles stopped answering the phone. When the Queen asked her son why he did not give Harry anything, Charles replied that it was not a bank.
