Does Tadej Pogacar never keep his legs planted? Even in the sprint phase, the pink jersey challenged his classification rivals. Geraint Thomas’s playful attempt to rein in Pogacar appears to be backfiring.
The first stage: Pogacar’s attack. Phase 2: Pogacar attack. Phase Three: Pogacar Attack. Do you see the pattern?
Even on a stage that was reserved for sprinters, Tadej Pogacar tried to make an impact. Although the Slovenian insists that it was Mikel Honoré who threw the racket into the birdie.
“I did not attack. I followed the wheel,” the Slovenian repeated twice, smiling. He added: “Thomas also tried to take charge at the end, which surprised me. Respect.”
I liked that. I extended my legs once.
Tadej Pogacar
The pink jersey and Thomas survived until three hundred meters to the finish before the sprint. “We tried to continue, but I never believed that we would reach the end,” Pogacar denied.
What is the reason for its failure? “It was like a game, like ‘back in the day’ with childhood friends: attacking each other on the flat ground and on the little slopes,” he says.
“I like it. I stretched my legs.”
“Papa” Tomas finished with Pogacar’s antics:
On Instagram, Geraint Thomas made a hilarious attempt to curb Pogacar.
“You’re having a good time now,” he wrote, winking at the Slovenian. “Let’s have a quiet day tomorrow.”
But this doesn’t seem to work with today’s youth. Just look at Pogacar’s answer: “Tomorrow is full from the start,” he answers smartly.
In the fourth stage with the Milan-San Remo touch, Poggi probably won’t stay still.
