televisionDreams exist to come true. They understood this well during the sixth episode of “Dream Factory.” For example, Tanya (50 years old) met her Scottish pen pal after 36 years, Quinn Waters got a tattoo with “super fan” Anne, and athlete Sitski (34 years old) took the first step towards the 2026 Winter Olympics. Tanja (50) from Wuustwezel meets her Scottish reporter friend Michelle
Tanya has been writing letters to Michelle, who has been living in the Shetland Islands – an archipelago above Scotland – since she was 14. She wrote to Michelle at the time to improve her English, but as she wrote they became best friends. They really trust each other with everything. Even now, 36 years later, they remain in regular contact via pen and paper – although it takes about a month for each letter to arrive.
Meanwhile, they shared a lot of joy and sadness from afar. From their first love to their pregnancy. “Yes, some secrets are shared,” Tanya laughs. However, the two never saw or spoke to each other. Tanya had dreamed of going to the Shetland Islands to cut her pen pal's hair for years and shared that dream with Bart and Gloria. Bart surprises Tanya at her house and takes her on the boat to the Shetland Islands. With an excuse, he takes Tanya into Michelle's hair salon, where she can finally hug her best friend after 36 years. “I don't want to go home again,” he said poignantly. “I can't put it into words. It was a magical moment.”
Nicola (37) from Menin calls for Sportpaleis as a one-off instead of the market
Nicola has been running his parents-in-law's fruit and vegetable shop for several years. Every day he is at the market where he enthusiastically promotes his goods and personally greets people. But for years, Nikola has been dreaming of the real thing: bringing not the Market Square, but full-fledged Sportpaleis to the atmosphere with a well-thought-out “Good Evening Sportpaleis”.
To realize this dream, Gloria has been collaborating with Nicolas's colleagues, who brought him to Sportpaleis without a doubt. That evening, Sportpaleis was ready for an evening of party night. “It would have been nice to see it again instead of experiencing it there,” Nicola said proudly.
Anne of Hammont Achill has a tattoo done by her idol Quinn Waters
Natasja enrolled her friend in “De Droomfabriek”. Anne has been a huge fan of Clouzot for 35 years. She's been following them since she was little, from the front row. Long ago, Quinn inked her arm with felt-tip pen. “I was about 11,” Anne says. Unfortunately, her mother removed this signature using a sponge and soap, which is why for years she has dreamed of a permanent souvenir of her greatest idol. She would really like to have a lasting keepsake. Clouseau tattoo, preferably done by Quinn himself.
At the request of “De Droomfabriek”, Koen Wauters was given a crash course in tattooing and during the show he was guided by the most famous tattoo artist in Flanders, Tijs Vanneste. Anne was lured into the studio with an excuse. “She dreams of her autograph,” her friend Natassia said. And it was no sooner over: Anne returned home with a tattoo on her arm, made by Quinn Waters.
Sitsky, 34, from Dendermond, is taking the first step towards the 2026 Winter Olympics
After a high-level sporting career in football, judo and rugby, Setsky still dreams of the one goal that makes all athletes' hearts beat faster: the Olympic Games. In 2020 she came close to qualifying with her rugby team. But now that Sitsky is the mother of two young children, her dream seems increasingly out of reach. With the help of “De Droomfabriek” she wants to seize another opportunity – this time in curling. After her call during last week's live show, more than 100 potential team members signed up for Sytske. Last week, Maaike and her captain went looking for her dream team.
During the episode “De Droomfabriek”, Bart and Gloria go straight to the preliminary rounds of the Belgian Cup in Ghent. “We are currently training for third place,” Sitsky said proudly. Coach Mikey kept a close eye on everything in the studio, while Setski kept her — and viewers at home — updated on her new curling team's performance. Unfortunately, they were ultimately unable to achieve third place, but they were still able to compete in the future.
Wanted: Dedicated room service at UZ Gent
doctor. Tessa Kerr is head of hematology at Ghent University Hospital, where patients spend weeks, sometimes months, in isolation. That's why she hopes to offer a kind of “room service for art” in the hospital room. She dreams of a digital platform on which artists and volunteers can offer their services, where patients can book a performance or artwork via a selection list.
However, she cannot achieve this alone. De Droomfabriek is therefore looking for artists who want to present their work in a small isolation room, digital artists who can expand this platform, creatives who can promote this initiative, and perhaps even an investor who wants to contribute. On Tuesday, March 12, “De Droomfabriek” is organizing the first room service day at the Dr. Tessa Kerry at Ghent University Hospital.
