ABBA’s new album is one of the history books. “Voyage” reached number one on the album charts in eighteen countries. Plus, the album has already sold 1 million copies – barely a week after the November 5th release date. To date, “Voyage” has been listened to over 190 million times on all streaming services. At ABBA they are happy that their new record is doing well. “We are very happy that our fans are enjoying our new album so much. We are glad to have another album at the top of the charts.”
Amazing numbers
The song “Voyage” especially in the UK appears to be very popular. It is the first time in 40 years that they have managed to reach the top of the official album chart. In the UK, it is also the best-selling album of 2021 to date. In fact, if we look at the vinyl version, it is the most successful version of the century. The album is also doing well in Germany. “Voyage” reached platinum status just one week later with more than 205,000 copies sold. In the United States, the album managed to reach the top of the album charts. They are also fans in Australia. There, “Voyage” was named Best Debut Album in 2021.
The fact that “Voyage” is doing so well has consequences for ABBA’s other albums. Several records reappeared on the charts. In a few weeks we can also expect Little Things, the group’s first Christmas single. The song is scheduled to be released on Friday, December 3rd.
