“It’s been a long time, but I’m happy to be here and I really hope to play,” Adnan Januzaj said a few days before the friendly match against Ireland.
Januzaj is one of the devils who has a chance to go to the World Cup for the third time. “That would be special.”
Where has Januzaj grown in recent years? “I feel good at Real Sociedad for two years, I play almost everything. My positional game is better, I defend more than I am used to and maybe I am more involved in the team. There is more maturity in my game, that is also because of experience.”
“But the most important thing is that I’ve been fine like injury-free lately. In the past I’ve often slowed down due to injuries, and now it’s stable.”
“I also have my own personal trainer and personal physiotherapist. These are the details that really help me. I know that if I’m fit and feel good, I can make a difference on the pitch.”
That I train harder than before? “I’m training more, yeah. I also get a lot of confidence in my team. It helps too.”
There were also some questions from the audience about Adnan Januzaj’s future. Will he stay with Real Sociedad? “This is personal. A lot of people ask about him, but I can only say that I am in Sociedad at the moment.”
Januzaj now also works for infamous real estate agent Mino Raiola. “I’ve known him for a long time, for many years. Now I’m working with him, yeah.”
Among other things, Napoli is mentioned as a new club. “No, I haven’t spoken to Dries Mertens yet. People talk a lot, but I don’t care. I have to make that decision, with my family and with Raiola.”
