After 42 years, the mystery of the murder of a young mother in Las Vegas, USA has been solved. Police tracked down the culprit after DNA was matched with the victim’s fingernails.
Sandra DeFelice, a 25-year-old mother from Las Vegas, was raped and murdered in her own home on December 26, 1980. For years it was quiet around the unsolved case until a special US cold case panel reopened the file last year.
A DNA match using the victim’s fingernails led to Paul Nuttall, 64, now in jail in Clark County, Nevada. The sixty-year-old was on the list of suspects in the murder case since the investigation began, but there was no evidence. Scientists have recently developed a new advanced technology that has led to a breakthrough.
Meanwhile, investigators are investigating DeFelice’s daughter — who was 3 years old at the time of the facts. DeFelice’s daughter was with her grandparents that day.
