Temu, the online shopping platform that quickly became the most popular app in the US, is coming to Europe. The company now operates in six European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The company is headquartered in Boston, a city in the state of Massachusetts in the United States. Temu is an online retailer launched last year by PDD, a US-listed company known as Pinduoduo. PDD was previously based in Shanghai, but recently moved its headquarters to Dublin, according to official company documents.
Temu operates a marketplace for everything from home goods to clothing and electronics. It quickly became the most downloaded app in the US since its launch in September and continues to dominate the country’s app stores with tens of millions of users in the US, according to market research firm Sensor Tower.

In recent months, as the company has gained popularity, it has also faced questions about several issues, including how it is able to sell goods at significantly lower prices, how transparent it is with the public and how much environmental waste its company generates. .
According to the spokesperson, it can reduce costs and prices thanks to a network of more than 11 million suppliers and fulfillment partners built over the years by its owner, PDD.
