After Netflix cancels the series: ‘Warrior Nun’ returns as a movie trilogy | television

televisionFans did it: Warrior N is back. The Netflix series was originally canceled by the streaming giant in December 2022, to the dismay of fans. They built an intense fan campaign through social media and now it is bearing fruit.

“I’m thrilled to announce that ‘Warrior Nun’ will return as a movie trilogy. It’s so worth it, thank you for the continued support,” said Dean English, executive producer of the series. He continues, “You made me proud of your hard work and inspired me to keep going.”

How, what, where and when remain unanswered questions for now, but for good reason. For example, the producer states that because of the strike in Hollywood—in which both actors and writers are involved—no further announcements can be made. But… “More details will follow in the future.” Fans are already reacting enthusiastically. The hashtag #WarriorNunSaved is currently trending on the ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) platform.

the story

The series tells the story of 19-year-old orphan Ava (played by Alba Baptista) who wakes up in a morgue and is revealed to have “superpowers”. This is thanks to a special artifact, an aura hidden in her back. Ava soon becomes part of a special order, the Order of the Sword Crusader, and is given the daunting task of fighting demons and otherworldly forces, among other things. Fortunately, she’s not completely alone.

Two seasons of Warrior Nun are available on Netflix. The release date of the films has not yet been announced.
