Almost half of the capacity of hyper scalars is in the United States – News

The number of large data centers of Hyperscale providers increased to 700 in the third quarter, half of which is in the United States.

This should be clear from the statistics of the Synergy Research Group. Data centers in the United States account for 49% of the global hyper scalar workload. This is a decrease of one per cent compared to the same period last year.

Next to the United States, China is the largest contributor to Hyperscale Data Center capability. The total share of the country is 15%. The remaining capacity is spread across the APAC region (13%), the EMEA region (19%) and Canada / Latin America (4%).

It is astonishing in the statistics that the total capacity of Hyperscale Data Centers has increased much faster than the addition of new data centers. So the average capacity of a data center has increased.

Cloud

Synergy Research Group’s research should show, among other things, that major cloud providers have the largest footprint in data centers, including Amazon, Microsoft, Google and IBM. Each has 60 or more data center locations, and at least three in each of the four regions: North America, APAC, EMEA and Latin America. Oracle, Alibaba and Tencent have significant presence in the data center. Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Facebook are leading the way in terms of data center capability. However, Chinese hyperscale is growing rapidly, especially in Bite Dance, Alibaba and Tencent.
