Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. has admitted to forcing a waitress to kiss him at a New York nightclub in 2018. His lawyer made the announcement on Wednesday as part of a lawsuit in which other complaints against him were dismissed.
Gooding Jr., 54, was arrested nearly three years ago after a woman accused him of touching her chest without her consent at a New York club. There have been other allegations of unwanted touching of the actor, two of which have also led to prosecutions.
Gooding Jr.’s attorney, Frank Rothman, said on Wednesday that his client accepted a guilty plea to one of the charges. “He pleads guilty to kissing a waitress without her consent,” Rothman said. All other allegations have been dismissed.” The lawyer said that if Gooding Jr does well in the next six months, he will withdraw without a criminal record.
Gooding Jr made a breakthrough with the film Boys N Hood From 1991. In 1997 saw his extradition in Jerry Maguire To win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He also played the role of OJ Simpson in the miniseries American Crime Story.
