White House National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi over the weekend. This is reported by Reuters based on US sources. Thus, it appears that the world’s two largest economies have taken another step towards improved relations.
The meeting between Sullivan and Wang is another in a series of political meetings between the US and China that could lay the groundwork for a meeting between US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping later this year. In May of this year, Sullivan and Wang met in Vienna.

The two are likely to speak during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit to be held in San Francisco in November.
