Nijmegen – The new round of injections against Corona is taking place as expected, according to GGD Gelderland South.
The promotional campaign began last Monday. This is for people aged sixty and over and people who are at greater risk of becoming seriously ill from coronavirus than usual. The last group includes health care workers, pregnant women and people who are also invited to get the flu vaccine.
“People over 60 receive an invitation every week, so registering people is still an ongoing process. New appointments are added every day.” According to GGD spokesman Gelderland Zuid, the available capacity will be full in the coming weeks.
Alma Tostman, an epidemiologist at Radboud University Medical Centre, says the new round of vaccinations is aimed at defeating the virus: “We have actually had very little coronavirus since last spring.”
According to her, experience shows that the virus will rebound now: “This is also the case with other viruses. Once autumn or winter comes, the virus will spread further. So the injections are already planned before such a wave comes again..”
Where can I make an appointment?
People who are not invited to the photo shoot can also make an appointment. You can do this online with your DigidD via the Planjeprik.nl website. If you would like to call, you can call 0800-7070 during business hours.
