According to rumors, Google and gaming maker Nintendo are working together on a virtual reality headset.
The answer to the question posed in the title is according to User X @noidle A resounding “yes.” The exciting personality, who often reveals details about Nintendo products at an early stage, talks about Nintendo’s VR headset on social media
Google decided some time ago to stop developing its XR headset. However, the company is still working on the operating system that will run on many VR headsets. For example, it is already known that Samsung is working on an XR headset and is working with Google, which provides the software.
According to the leak, the prototype of Nintendo’s VR headset is already ready. This is currently being improved further. The company is currently looking for suitable displays. For this purpose, it is currently looking at microLED displays from Raxium. It is no coincidence that Google bought Raxium last year.
It’s certainly not Nintendo’s first foray into the world of virtual reality. The manufacturer already offers a VR bundle with Nintendo Labo, although it is mainly aimed at children – it is more like a kind of cardboard glasses through which you can move the Nintendo Switch. However, the question remains what the collaboration between Google and Nintendo will look like – and only time will tell.
