Wim Delfoy is a world famous Belgian artist. He loves to provoke people with his work and loves confrontation. His work is serious and humorous at the same time.
He was best known for his tattooed pigs, his excrement-producing machines, and Arabic love letters made from potato skins. He often combines everyday objects with vintage crafts, such as a mahogany concrete mixer with Baroque carving or a goalie with stained glass. His work is displayed both at home and abroad.
Delfoy sees himself not only as an artist, but also as an entrepreneur. He no longer does his job himself, it’s done by a group of employees. It mainly targets large museums and wealthy art collectors for sale. He was known to the general public for the controversy surrounding his work.
In 2019, KMSK held a retrospective exhibition of his work in Brussels. At that time, the artist called it his last exhibition in our country. “I had it here a while ago,” he said. That was a few weeks after he was convicted on appeal for construction and environmental violations.
