Meanwhile, it has been almost a year since Aster Nzyyimana looked for other prospects. After a longer stint at public broadcaster, Aster spread his wings and eventually ended up at competitor VTM. This was accompanied by a number of concerns.
Successor to the ultimate icon
As a football and sports broadcaster, Nzyyimana was widely loved by the Flemish public. He also got a lot of opportunities in VRT, for example he was seen on Sports Weekend for a long time, and eventually Aster would also succeed the popular Frank Rice as overtime host.
However, that adventure was short-lived, because somewhat surprisingly, the switch to commercial broadcasting came last summer. Aster previously indicated that he also wanted to get a taste of the entertainment industry part and that VTM was a bit more suited to that.
“I really had to fight for it.”
He admitted that this leap into depth was accompanied by many fears Primo. “As a football journalist, I've already achieved some things, and I had to fight hard for that. So I didn't want to jeopardize that. But I'm someone who wants to taste everything, so I got in quickly.”
At the moment, the transfer is a great success. “I really feel like I made the right decision. I'm very happy. 'The Voice' has also been my favorite show since my school days. After being in the room for a whole week, I was looking forward to Friday evening watching 'The Voice' with my mom.” Nzyyimana now plays first violin in this programme.
“Friendly communicator. Music trailblazer. Internet maven. Twitter buff. Social mediaholic.”
