Inspired by the methodical cleaning approach of the Dyson 360 Vis NavTM robot vacuum, the Dyson CleanTrace helps users clean more methodically by providing real-time augmented reality visualizations of where they have cleaned and where they have missed. This takes the guesswork out of asking “Have you cleaned there yet?”.
Dyson CleanTrace combines a range of technologies to achieve stronger, smarter and more thorough cleaning. Using LiDAR technology from the user's phone, Dyson CleanTrace can map the room and use augmented reality to overlay the cleaning path, so you can see where you've cleaned and what you missed. When you're done cleaning, you can scan the room with your phone to identify gaps so you don't miss a single spot. The technology in the Dyson Gen5detect then detects and acoustically counts dust particles, as evidence of a thorough cleaning.
Cleaning products are ineffective
Dyson engineers are obsessed with finding ways to improve how we clean. In addition to extensive testing in labs, our engineers study human behavior and cleaning habits, as well as real-world frustrations. They have spent hundreds of hours monitoring the cleaning of homes around the world – checking how long each cleaning session takes, the effectiveness of the cleaning, the different sweeping angles and patterns, and even the number of times the user puts the machine down during a cleaning session. a class. All of this forms the basis for continuous innovation in vacuum cleaner technology.
Our research shows that consumers regularly overestimate the amount of time they spend cleaning. Data suggests that around 80% of cleanings take less than 10 minutes, while people claim they vacuum for an average of 24 minutes per session. Furthermore, consumers are indiscriminate and inefficient, regularly passing over the same areas multiple times and missing other areas altogether, demonstrating the need for Dyson CleanTrace.
Dyson CleanTrace will be available from June 2024.
