Nintendo really spoiled us during the Nintendo Indie World show. For example, its Switch console is equipped with seven new indie games as of today. You can now write the sweetest things about “wait,” but the trailer is worth over a million words. Let’s take a look at seven of them:
It’s no surprise that the sequel to Axiom Verge, the much-loved Metroidvania game that actually harks back to the early days of our hobby with thick pixels.
Not to be confused with the Love Island team please, but Islanders is a quiet strategy game in which you get your own plot of land. You are supposed to plant buildings on it, but the pressure on you is minimal. So it is somewhat similar to Animal Crossing.
Boyfriend Dungeon crawler is a weird game, but that’s how we love indie games, right? The game challenges you to visit all kinds of dungeons, where weapons turn into dates. A mix between a dating simulator and a dungeon crawler: who would have thought?
You Wait doesn’t know if she wants a tea latte from Necrobarista, because in this game you pour coffee on the dead. It is not a huge game full of action, but a kind of game book with great anime style and remastered graphics, because this game has been released before.
You are a grape! In Holland, this is not the most beautiful thing to say to a person, but in Garden Story you really are one. Super cute grapes, go on a big adventure in this top-down RPG from Rose City Games.
The first-person shooter Slime Rancher has been around for a while, but it’s now coming to Switch. Especially since the second part is in the making, you can definitely see if you can appreciate this slime making game.
For you, all the N8W8 is another intriguing expedition, but the roguelike Curious Expedition 2 takes you back to the 19th century and tells you a story right there, rather than just getting into an action-packed game. The nice thing is that this game is coming to the Switch including a content update from May.
