KRC Genk will still complete a lot of incoming and outgoing transfers. Aliou Vadira is moving to Como, which means that head of football Dimitri De Conde may want to sign another winger. The Limburgers could already remove a player from their shortlist.
Gomez will not move to KRC Genk
Genk wanted to work with Andres Gomes, but he will not come to Limburg. The Colombian striker has made a big splash at Real Salt Lake City and is thus in the spotlight at the Belgian top club.
From MLS to Ligue 1
However, Stade Rennais overtook Genk, taking them to Ligue 1. The French are much stronger financially than Racing Genk. They will pay $11 million plus $2 million in bonuses to the American club. That’s just under €12 million.
These amounts are not a source of income for Genk. Therefore, they have to explore other options.
