Heavy rainfall caused floods not only in Italy, but also in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
In Sisak, Croatia, sixty kilometers south of the capital Zagreb, the Sava district is overflowing with its banks. The Therapeutic Riding Association’s stables were flooded, but all the horses were taken to safety, according to Croatian broadcaster HRT.
The Croatian cities of Karlovac, Petrinja, Hrvatska Kostanica, Gracak and Obrovac also experienced a rise in the water level, but there were no casualties.
The situation is also difficult in northern Bosnia. The Una and Glina rivers caused floods in the cities of Bihac, Velika Kladusa and Bosanska Krupa.
In Novi Sad, Serbia, several roads in the center were flooded on Wednesday evening. This caused traffic chaos and several accidents.
