Belgium started well in the korfball tournament at the World Games. The Belgians were too big for Germany in their first game.
Helen Konnaert qualified for the semi-finals of kickboxing in the category up to 60 kg. The 33-year-old world champion was too strong for the Portuguese in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 (12-11, 13-8, 15-21).
Under the watchful eye of IOC President Thomas Bach, Belgium opened the korfball tournament with a 26-9 victory over Germany. Bach, who is German, spoke with both countries during the break.
Belgium already had its sheep on dry ground, because thanks to, among other things, Lars Courtens safe, there were 12-3 on the board after the first half. This comfortable gap deepened a bit after the break.
On Thursday, the Belgian korfball players will have to get back to work. So China is the opponent.
