Norman Bassett was a sought-after player during the Mercato last summer. Club Brugge wanted to sign him, but it is only KV Mechelen who can rent the striker from SM Caen for one season.

Bassett has only scored twice this season, but is important to the team with his work ethic, focus on goals, pace and depth. He is a striker who burdens the defence.

Bassett has been rented from SM Caen for one season, and KV Mechelen has a €5 million purchase option. This is very expensive for Malinois. “Let's hope the club finds a solution to keep him. It would be a shame for him to leave,” Gwynne said with her fingers crossed.
