Soon Bitcoin (BTC) Featured on an episode of South Park, you know cryptocurrency adoption is booming! Cryptocurrency got a small part in the last episode of “Post COVID.”
“Bitcoin only”
The episode is set 40 years in the future in a post-COVID world. According to South Park, by then the world will only accept bitcoin and a number of select cryptocurrencies for transactions. It is, of course, plausible that the makers of the program are not trying to make serious predictions.
However, bitcoin is getting a role. As soon as a character Stan Marsh goes to the “Super 12 Motel Plus” to book a room, the “Bitcoin ONLY” sign can be seen on the log. The receptionist says to Marsh:
Now, of course, we only accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because, you know, it’s the future, we’ve all decided central banking is a rig, so we’re relying more on “night-flying” Ponzi schemes.
Now, of course, we’re just taking bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, you know, it’s the future, we’ve all decided that central banking is a rig, so we’re more trusting of night-flying Ponzi schemes. #SouthParkPostCovid pic.twitter.com/UPU5q1r1wE

Bitcoin extremists are not happy
And it’s this last sentence that Bitcoin fanatics are not happy about. Bitcoin extremists are people who believe that Bitcoin is the only true cryptocurrency and ultimately the only cryptocurrency that will be in demand in the future. In short, according to them, Bitcoin is better than any other cryptocurrency.
The Bitcoin Ponzi scam call is a sore point. Ponzi fraud is known as a pyramid scheme in which investors have to recruit more and more new investors in order to grow their investment. However, bitcoin fits the definition of a pyramid scheme just like gold and the euro.
Perhaps describing South Park Bitcoin as a pyramid scheme is a joke because opponents are always trying to position the cryptocurrency in this way. Will we only pay with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in 40 years? As far as we’re concerned, that’s totally fine!
