Alec Jon Such, guitarist and founding member of the American rock band Bon Jovi, has died at the age of 70. The band announced this in a statement.
“We were deeply shocked by the news of the passing of our dear friend Alec John Such. He was genuine. As a founding member of Bon Jovi, Alec was an integral part of forming the band. To be honest, we found our way to each other through him. He was a childhood friend of Tico’s and he brought Ritchie to see us. We perform. Alec was always wild and full of life. Today those special memories bring smiles to my face and tears to my eyes. We will miss him so much.” Jon Bon Jovi wrote on Twitter.
This was instrumental in the founding of the American rock band in 1983, but he left the band in 1994. According to him, being a member of the band became “a business” and that’s exactly why he founded the band. “Because I didn’t want to work.”
When the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, he was present at a small get-together.
