American fashion designer and artist Brandon Wynn will head up the Antwerp Fashion Department after Walter Van Berendonk retires.
In September, Brandon Wynn will become the new Artistic Coordinator for Fashion Training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The American will know, too.
Born in Los Angeles in 1993, Wen graduated from the Fashion Department in Antwerp in 2019. He also studied at Cornell University in New York. He has worked in Paris and designed for Rick Owens, Michel Lamy, and Maison Limarie/Chanel, among others. On Instagram, he described his appointment as a “huge honour”.
“We were convinced by his generous creativity, strong motivation, fresh ideas, and great uniting strength,” Johann Bass, president of the academy and chair of the selection committee, said in a press release. “With Brandon Wen, we radically choose an international, multidisciplinary and innovative profile.”
Walter van Berendonk, Head of Fashion for many years, will retire soon. He has led the fashion school since 2007. He has most recently chaired the year-end show of the famous fashion school.
