British Defense Secretary: Russian soldiers increasingly despair

Russian soldiers in Ukraine are “increasingly desperate”. British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said: BBC breakfast

The British Defense Secretary was a guest on public radio on Tuesday morning to get a look at the situation regarding the war in Ukraine. “It’s the thirteenth day and we don’t see any real progress for the Russians,” Wallace said remarkably there. “This column towards Kyiv remains in place, it is completely stuck. The soldiers are getting more and more desperate.”

This desperation has been reported several times in recent days. For example, many soldiers were said to have started looting because they had logistical problems. The food and drink supply was interrupted, lowering morale. There have been reports of soldiers deserting and surrendering to Ukrainian forces, but there is no confirmation.

What’s more, Wallace said, is brutality. “They are twice as rude as in the beginning.” This has been demonstrated in recent days by the harsh air strikes, which no longer appear to be targeting specific targets. “But we will continue to support Ukraine no matter what.”

Wallace also promised to support Poland if it decided to give the Ukrainian army aircraft in order to be stronger in the air as well. “We will always protect them,” Wallace said. “But Poland should know: if they do this, they risk conflict with Russia and Belarus.”
