The Avavieren Foundation from ‘s-Gravenzande offers holidays for children and adults with disabilities in special care cottages in the Strandpark Vlugtenburg. “Beach accessibility is also very important, so that people in wheelchairs can enjoy the sun, sea and beach.”
Review 2023
The Foundation looks with satisfaction to the year 2023, in which the Mayor of Westland becomes its patron: “Last season, the electric beach caterpillar, equipped this year with new batteries, was in regular operation. People also enjoyed the beach’s electric wheelchairs and other amenities. And let’s not forget what made it possible: “many volunteers and donations from individuals, organizations and private companies.”
Charity stalls
The BIZ of ‘s-Gravenzande allows charities, including the Avavieren Foundation, to present themselves at the Christmas market in the center of ‘s-Gravenzande. A booth is offered to them to attract public attention to the charities. Visitors are welcome at the Avavieren Foundation booth on Saturday 16 December from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday 17 December from 12pm to 5pm.
Lots of beautiful things
There are many beautiful things to be found at their booth. “The volunteers have gotten creative so you can buy original and unique Christmas gifts, all proceeds of which will benefit the Avavieren Foundation,” explains Avavieren.
For example, there are weather bottles with light and tea lights with a Christmas message and pictures after the light goes out. There are also natural and sustainable Christmas tree ornaments and Christmas themed pillows.
Anyone who decides to become a Christmas market donor can take a ride on a beach caterpillar as a thank you.
