You have those evenings… After a streak of 4 unbeaten matches, Cercle was able to further his playoff ambitions at the Stade Charleroi, but only twenty minutes later it was already the end of the story.
It started with two very quick goals from Charleroi: an own goal from Daland and a superb shot from Bayeux. Circle was surprised, but seemed to be back on the right track. Utkus even killed his team with a stupid red card.
Against ten Cercle players and with a double bounty on the board, little would go wrong for Charleroi. This rest translated into a dominance on the field: Bayeux again and soon afterwards Heymans also provided heavy numbers 4-0 in the first half.
After the break, Charleroi seemed to continue the momentum, when substitute Zarrouri worked the losing score well against the net, but suddenly the machine came to a halt. For Charleroi, the loot was there, and Cercle had long been happy that the outcome of the beast could be avoided.
With the win, Charleroi almost sure of the European playoff, only the goal difference could kill Carolo in two weeks. The playoff story will be very difficult for Circle, especially if Genk manages to surprise Brugge for the national champions tomorrow.
