After his much-discussed interview, Romelu Lukaku bolstered some positive energy with Chelsea. In the League Cup semi-finals, the blue shirts defeated Tottenham 2-0 in the first leg.
Chelsea coach Tuchel had forgiven Romelu Lukaku for his high-profile interview and left the Red Devil on the field throughout the match.
Lukaku almost had all his sins taken out, but his header in the first half was a few centimeters wide from the wrong side of the post.
Chelsea was the lord and master throughout the match. Havertz opened the scoring after 6 minutes. Tottenham helped the home team with a clumsy own goal.
In a week, Spurs will have a chance to correct the flaw. The winner of this semi-final will compete against Liverpool or Arsenal for the main trophy in the League Cup.
