From Patrick Vieira to Wayne Rooney. Christian Benteke has had to listen to the lesser-known coaches of his long career.
It had been 10 years since the Red Devil granted his first transmission. In 2012, Benteke transferred from KRC Genk to Aston Villa for over €8 million.
In the Premier League, the big goal striker made an impression. Liverpool opened the bag of money and had at least 46 million euros. At that time, the largest amount paid to a Belgian player.
But at Anfield Road the scoring machine stopped, Benteke could not live up to expectations and moved to Crystal Palace. In the end he would stay in London for 6 seasons, but he never managed to get a permanent place of residence.
The Red Devil alternated with good intervals and lower intervals. One week he was invisible, and after a week he could only head two balls into the net.
Benteke even threatened to lose his place in the selection of Roberto Martinez. The 31-year-old striker wants to prevent that – a few months before the World Cup in Qatar – by moving to DC United.
In the US, he’s already found the perfect coach with Wayne Rooney to refinish his instincts.
