Chromecast with Google TV is available in more and more Dutch stores

In the middle of 2020, Google launched a new Chromecast device, Chromecast with Google TV. Google hasn’t released the dongle in Holland and Belgium, so we have to buy the device via a wrap. Fortunately, there are more and more stores in the Netherlands that sell Chromecast with Google TV.

What is Chromecast with Google TV?

Chromecast with Google TV on is the latest Chromecast, a stick that can make any “dumb” TV smart. You can connect the dongle to the HDMI port of your TV and you can stream music, websites, movies and series in a few steps. Plus, you can install apps and games on your TV via Chromecast, ask Google Assistant questions, and show off something fun in the background via mood mode.

Unlike older Chromecasts, Chromecast with Google TV also has new options. For example, there is a new user interface focused on personalized content, and the dongle comes with a remote control. With this remote control, you can navigate the Google TV interface via the D-Pad or by using the buttons to return or to the home screen. There is also a button for the Google Assistant, and two for the most popular video services, Netflix and YouTube.

Unfortunately, a number of important functions in the Google TV user interface are missing. That’s because Google has yet to officially announce the dongle in the Netherlands and Belgium, though All components are present.
