Club Brugge are currently heading into the transfer market. As new arrivals settle in at Westkapelle, the people there don’t want to miss out on their youth.
Bart Verhaeghe has stressed several times in the past that he wants to focus more on local products. In recent years, more and more young people have been given their chance in Blauw-Zwart.
Trust in the student
One of them is Chamseddine Talbi, who first joined the main force in Brugge under Rick De Mel. Since then, the 19-year-old winger has made nine appearances there, without scoring a goal or an assist.
Last season he suffered a torn knee ligament, but the confidence in the youth international has not been affected. He has just been handed a new contract.
A chance?
The club announced through official channels that Talbi, whose previous contract was due to expire next year, is now contracted until mid-2027. The winger hopes to break through next season in Jan Breydel.
The departure of some competitors could help, though one has already been added in Christos Tzoulis. Under Nicky Hayne, Talbi has recorded six goals and seven assists in 33 games in Club NXT.
More to come. 🔵 ⚫
Talbi extends his contract with Blue and Whites until 2027.
