Club Brugge remains firm about Hans Vanaken (29): he can’t leave this Mercato. Despite tangible interest and an offer of 10 million euros from West Ham. In the black and blue team, they realized that it was a loss to the Red Devil that could not even be spoken of. So they want to meet their stronghold and discuss an extension, where they will commit it to another year longer – until 2026 – and on improved terms.
It happened before, in September 2020, an offer of more than 15 million euros from West Ham was rejected, but a few days later Vanaken got a new contract. However, it is now too early for the midfielder to come to terms with that. Now that he is in his 30s, he really wants to move up to the Hammers, to play football in the Premier League and improve himself financially. He hopes that the increased bid, which will expire soon, can still impress the club. Or at least it can be negotiated.
As far as midfield reinforcements are concerned, Sanderberg (24) – also in good shape at Sheffield United – is still not possible. He’s still in the picture, just as Nicholas Raskin, 21, of The Standard, who was recently polled again. (DVD)
