showbizA milestone for Dan Carati: The TV judge has been clean for exactly one year. My 45-year-old Continental announces it in a cheerful photo showing a balloon with the number 1. “I had a choice: give up one thing for everything else—or—give up everything for that one thing.”
Watch below: Dan Karate on alcoholism
Karate announced at the end of last year that she had been an alcoholic for years. “I lied to myself, my friends and my family,” the American wrote on Instagram. “I avoided helping because I was too proud, ashamed and afraid. But I ended up hiding.”
The TV judge shared his story in hopes of helping others in similar situations. He said because people often suffer from anxiety or alcoholism alone.
Today one of my proud continents announces that it has been clean for a year. “I had a choice: give up one thing for everything else – or – give up everything for this thing,” the motivational caption reads. Karate continues: “It sounds simple, but it required a lot of love, a lot of support and guidance from a lot of people. The work will never end, but the results are worth it.”
My balls can count on many compliments from friends and fans. “Keep it up”, “Good job” and “Proud of you” read in the comments.
