Danira Buchris Turksides started her career at VRT NWS as a reporter for the Journal, but today we know her primarily as a presenter. Earlier this month she gave the live show Ukraine 12 12 with Queen Waters and James Cook, as well as watching the MIAs: “Finally! After two years, MIA is back as it should be: the big concert. I personally sympathize with our Belgian artists who have been through such a difficult time. So it’s great to be able to present this dual MIAs after that silence and celebrate the revival of the music sector.”
At least 39 groups and artists have been nominated for the dual edition of the MIAs. Angèle is a big favorite, with 6 nominations to her name. With 5 nominations each, Balthazar, Reggie and Zwang’er Guy also have a good chance of winning an MIA award. Stromae’s comeback has not gone unnoticed: he has a chance of winning 3 MIAs, just as young talent and The Masked Singer winner, Camille.
VRT and VI.BE will soon announce which artists will perform during the live show. The winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Sector Lifetime Achievement Award and the Six Sector Awards will also be announced soon. If you want to attend the award show, you can buy tickets via mias.be or palace12.com†
