Never before has the Samsung Galaxy S22 been this cheap. For only 449 euros you can buy the version with a storage capacity of 128 GB, and for 499 euros you can get the version with a storage capacity of 256 GB.
Samsung's flagship phone may be two years old, but it's still smooth. What's more: for 449 or 499 euros, you simply won't find a smartphone that performs as well as the Galaxy S22. In terms of design, not much has changed since the Galaxy S22 series. So, it's like you're walking around with one of the latest flagship phones, for a lot less money.
Of course, you have to compromise on modern conveniences. For example, the Galaxy S22's display is much less bright than the OLED displays in the S24 series. It achieves a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, while the S22 stays stuck at 1,300 nits. In practice, you might not notice much of this: that's more than enough to be able to read the screen outdoors. Where the smartphone also lags a bit is in terms of processor. As we mentioned earlier: The Galaxy S22 certainly isn't as fast as Samsung's latest flagships. There is no other trace of AI functionality.
Since the device is already two years old, you will also receive fewer software updates. Samsung is giving the smartphone a total of four OS upgrades and five years of security patches. Since its release, the device has already received two OS upgrades and two years of patches. Next year, the smartphone will receive the fourth and final operating system upgrade (Android 16). Samsung will then continue to roll out security updates until at least early 2027, so you can certainly keep using the device for a long time to come.
Save 25% on Galaxy S22
Considering that you're currently only paying €449 for the base model of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, this support period isn't that bad. The version with 256GB storage is also available at Coolblue – also at a discounted price of €499. Both versions are identical. Please note: Samsung has not supplied the charger for several years. If you need it, you will have to purchase it separately.
