Club Brugge sacked Ronny Deila a few months ago and then Nicky Haine was able to lead Blau Zwart to a new title. According to Swedish Aftonbladet A new challenge awaits the former record coach.
Deila was the victim after Club Brugge’s poor performance in the competition. She was still active in Europe, but the title seemed too far away. After the dismissal of the Norwegian coach, the remontada in the Champions Qualifiers still guarantees the title in blue and black.
Swedish adventure?
Now Dilla is waiting for a new challenge in Sweden’s AIK. The coach faces competition from Olof Melberg, but is still under contract with Brommapojkarna. If the former Sweden international decides not to leave, Deila will likely be appointed to the new T1 position.
AIK sacked coach Henning Berg last Friday after he clashed with the board. “The disagreement is about the way the club should operate in the future,” the statement read. Melberg was mentioned as the best candidate because he has played for AIK in the past and is a Swedish icon with the national team.
Della more experience
However, Della’s resume is impressive. The Norwegian has previously played for Celtic, Valerenga, Standard and Club Brugge. He was expelled from the latter after poor results in the competition, but in Europe things went smoothly.
Deila was well received at Standard. The coach made sure that Skilesen regained his enthusiasm and passion, and given the limited budget, he also achieved good results at Roche.
