The cards have finally been shuffled in the Challenger Pro League. It was a final day of play to die for, but it was known at the top and at the bottom who could bring the champagne and who couldn't.
On Saturday evening we attended the title party in Kiel and the potential promotion party for Lommel. However, the latter will not happen, because player number two of Dender managed to win and thus can go to the Jupiler Pro League.
Dender had no problem with Franks Borrens and eventually won 0-3, allowing Timmy Simmons' troops to drink the champagne. Mbarki opened the scoring quickly, then Nsimba added two goals, and the job was completed perfectly immediately after the break.
Deinze, Lommel, Zulte Waregem and Patro Eisden also managed to win the match. The four of them will enter a very exciting qualifier where they could get a third promotion chance in a jump-off against the 14th-placed team from the Jupiler Pro League.
KV Oostende managed to save himself
Liège – No. 7 – beat Genk B convincingly, but are no longer able to get past either side. Down below, Ostend is the lucky one. They won against Standard SL 16, which means Seraeng will go down with the people of Liège.
The full overview of all matches in the Challenger Pro League can be found below. There is another match on Saturday between Club NXT and RSCA Futures, but it has no impact on either team.
