FC Dordrecht has given France defender Sedine Ndiaye the chance to return to his family in Lyon. The 18th player in the Kitchen Champion Division decided to do so after the player with Senegalese roots was subjected to racist treatment by some Limburg fans in overtime to his duel with MVV last Friday.
N’Diaye became angry two minutes before the time after hearing monkey sounds. He complained to an assistant arbitrator, Richard Martins. The commander stuck in yellow to the Turkish Göztepe SK mercenaries, who threw additional fuel on the fire. N’Diaye wanted to get a story out of the fans, had to be chained up by his teammates and then leave the field visibly emotional. Dordrecht general manager Hans de Zieu then agreed that he was “bathing with tears”.
“Give him the time he takes”
One day later, the Frenchman returned to Crom-Medic, but then returned to his family. “We’ve given him the space to allow him to recover after all he’s been through,” said director of innovation Leon Flemings from FC Dordrecht. “We didn’t associate the length with that, we want to give him the time he needs.”
Go to Roda JC
Dordrecht will play the first leg on Friday at the Roda stadium in Kerkrade.
